Welding Consulting Overview

Aerospace Welding Consultant specializes in advanced welding techniques, possessing intimate, hands-on knowledge of the following:  


Processes: Electron Beam Welding (EBW), Gas Tungsten Arc (GTAW or TIG), Variable Polarity Plasma Arc (VPPAW), Laser Beam (LW), Keyhole TIG (KTIG), Additive Manufacturing (AM – EBW, Laser and Arc (WAAM) processes), Orbital TIG (OTW), Resistance Spot and Seam (RSW), Gas Metal Arc (GMA), Inertia (IW), Friction Stir Welding (FSW), Cold Metal Transfer (CMT-GMAW), all types of arc welding, brazing, heat treatment.  


Materials: Titanium, Platinum-Rhodium, Tantalum, Aluminum, Nickel-Base (Super Alloys), Stainless Steel, High Strength Low Alloy Steel, Magnesium Alloys.  


Controls and Automation: Develop, optimize, and qualify automatic weld schedules; program welding systems from Pro Beam, Sciaky, Jetline, Hobart, Hamilton Standard, PTR, Weldline, and others; implement into production using welding automation techniques.  


Testing: Metallurgical analysis; Tensile, Toughness, Charpy and Fatigue Testing; interpret Radiographic, Fluorescent Penetrant, Visual, Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle Inspections; all forms of NDT.  


Documentation: Customized weld schedules, shop procedures, step-by-step instructions for optimized weld quality, minimize distortion, root cause analysis, recommendations, reports.  


Troubleshooting: Summa Cum Laude Ohio State University Welding Engineer graduate with decades of experience in Research & Development, Production, and Repair environments involving aerospace welding. Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with many years of experience in successful welding consulting services.
